If you had to leave the country, what would you need to do first? Most might say top of the list would be asking for time off from work then prepping those who’d be covering for them. But, what if you needed to extend your stay? Or go back next month? What then? Do you have the freedom to change your plans on a dime or does even the idea give you anxiety?
Right now, I could not be more grateful for Young Living. I never wanted to ever be involved with network marketing. But I fell in love with this company and it’s natural products and couldn’t help but share them. Then I realized: I could be completely free to do whatever I want whenever I want.
Over 15 years as a PR consultant, I worked from home and my schedule was flexible but I was never free. When you’re self-employed, taking time off means you need to pass the torch to someone to keep things running, and while you’re out, you may sacrifice some if not all of your pay. The prep alone is prohibitive.
For my last-minute trip to Asia, here’s what I had to do: Talk to my husband and kid and rework carpool. That’s it. Then, on the way out the door, I connected with my team and cheered them on to keep rocking their own businesses. I didn’t need to get approved for time off or pass on any work. Just, I gotta go, keep doing an amazing job of building your dreams.
I have a new level of appreciation for the freedom provided by a one-to-many model. I’m no one’s boss but my own and life is simplified to a point where I can focus on what’s most important. And while I do what I gotta do, things keep moving, shaking and growing. What’s that worth to you? ❤️
